 Saturn Conjunct Venus?
« Thread Started on Oct 19, 2009, 8:35pm »

I have read that a person with Gemini in Venus is very flirtatious, and craves variety, so is likely to cheat on a partner within a committed relationship.

My question: If the partner's Saturn conjuncts the other partners Venus in Gemini, would this work to restrict or limit the tendency toward infidelity in any way? Logically, it seems that it should, but I'm just guessing.

Does anyone have any insight regarding this?

Yeah, Venus in Gemini is flirtatious, but that does not mean she would be unfaithful. I have 2 friends with that...one has Venus conjunct Uranus, and she was always wild as heck. The other friend is a one man woman all the way, and does flirt, but thats all.
From the chart you cannot determine if someone will be unfaithful or not. Usually, any woman will be faithful if her needs are being met, even somewhat. What needs? Ask her. With Venus in Gemini they will love to talk about it if you are gentle and don't judge her.

In your case "she" has Saturn square Venus in her own chart, which tends to be less self-assured. Your Saturn conjuncts her Venus, so she is likely to respect you automatically, and feel you are a stabilizing influence for her.
Remember, Saturn is not always bad. Her own Saturn square can make her feel somewhat suppressed and self-conscious, and uncomfortable with compliments. Your Saturn conjunct her Venus may cause a slight fear of you at first, but once you do get past that she will likely become "glued to you". Obviously, though this depends on how she is treated. Negatively, your Saturn conj her Venus makes her very sensitive to any criticism you may have of her. She feels less confident already from her own Saturn, then any criticism can have too much impact, out of proportion. She really needs your approval and open acceptance of her as she is.
I've done charts for at least 50 ladies with Saturn square Venus, and all were so sweet, but thought they weren't worthy of being loved. They need to be convinced they are really worthy. That's your job. :D

Hi Xihp and Norain,

I'm enjoying this conversation!

I agree: Flirtatious doesn't equate with 'cheating'. They are two very different things. Evangaline Adams said that Saturn/Venus contacts in synastry were a sign of eternal friendship. I like that one--reminds us of the beautiful qualities possibly when these planets meet.

Hmmmmm. I have never heard the phrase "Eternal Friendship." Can you explain a little bit about what this concept means Kim? ???

I think I would characterize Saturn/Venus contacts more as a "reliable" or stable friendship that can last over a long timespan. You can depend on each other, and there is mutual support. And, there is tolerance by the Venus person for the quirks of the Saturn person, yet she is uncomfortable to an extent. She will respect Saturn, of course. If the rest of a chart has enough favorable contacts, then Venus/Saturn will be more comfortable. The Venus person will always feel somewhat uncomfortable, like she is being judged by the Saturn person, even if its just a small amount, its always present.
I'm nitpicking here maybe, but I think Eternal would be more like what you would get with Neptune/Venus. Of course that would be a much more intense relationship than mere friendship, so maybe I'm jumping ahead here too far. Neptune tends to operate outside time, where Saturn cannot, and is totally tied to a time continuum. So, with the 3 planet combination of Venus/Saturn with a bit of Neptune thrown into the mix, yes, you have Eternal friendship, maybe eternal Love!
One thing for certain, Saturn will make it a serious relationship, though it will tend to decrease passion. Whether they remain friends will depend on other aspects. If there are few other good contacts the tendency is to become isolated over time, due to the cooling effect of Saturn on Venus. Even if it cools to where they don't communicate, they won't forget each other. So in that sense, I guess you could say its eternal.
